Carol Burnett and Close Friend Vicki Lawrence

Carol Burnett's career has been very extensive and she always says how he she owes it to her colleagues for making her who she is today. One of the people she worked with the most was Vicki Lawrence. Vicki joined the cast of The Carol Burnett show as a teenager, aged 18, and quickly become one of the most loved cast members. She was known for her witty comedy that kept fans rolling on the floor laughing. She recently gave her condolences and paid homage to the late Harvey Korman last year after he passed away. Vicki Lawrence noted that she owed everything to Harvey Korman as he taught her everything she knew about acting and also the show business industry. She also noted that he was the greatest comedian to ever live and she learnt most of her skills from him and used them on the Carol Burnett Show. Vicki Lawrence made an appearance at the last reunion show for the Carol Burnett Show in 2002. The DVD of this reunion show is now available thanks to CBS and their dedication to keeping in touch with their fans. Vicki Lawrence will be remembered for her bubbly nature at such a young age and also for being in the industry such a long time up until now. Since her time on the Carol Burnett Show has ended she has continued her career in television through hosting. She hosted the television show 'Win, Lose or Draw' for several seasons. Vicki also had a brief career in music releasing several albums but has mostly been known for her one-hit wonder in 1973 'The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia'. She has also had her own sketch show throughout the late 80's that was in a similar format to the Carol Burnett Show and it was called Mama's Family.
