Carol Burnett and Friends

The Carol Burnett Show is a half hour television comedy show which is composed of sketches and parodies which are movies, TV shows, soaps and operas. This show is also known as Carol Burnett and Friends starring Carol Burnett, Vicky Lawrence, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, amongst many others. From the many shows of Carol Burnett, the famous and the most popular are "As the Stomach Turns" and "Went with the Wind".

Carol Burnett and Friends was televised from September 11, 1967 to March 29, 1968 and the show contained 278 episodes. It proved immense success during the many years, so much so that it returned after some re-editing and the show's sketches.

The sad turnaround which caused the show to drop at one time was when Harvey Korman left. He was the best player amongst the supporting cast, and his departure caused a big dent in the show. Harvey Korman was a part of the cast of the Carol Burnett Show for 10 long years. His first TV exposure was as a regular for four seasons on the The Danny Kaye Show in the early 1960s. He also did voice-over work on Tom & Jerry and as the Great Gazoo on The Flintstones. Korman died in May 2008 in Los Angeles of complications of a stomach ailment. He was 81 years at the time of his death.
